Christy的女儿终于快要生宝宝了!不过让她没有想到的是，女儿要把baby送去找人领养，简直就是晴天霹雳(a bolt from the blue)啊!Anyway，跟着这一家子继续学英文吧：
right on schedule = at the planned time
on schedule是“按时，按照预定时间”。Right这里用来强调语气。例如：
Filming began on schedule.
如果是“提前”呢，就是ahead of schedule，同理“拖后”，就是behind schedule.
alien = non-citizen
这个单词我们最常用的一个意思是“外星人”，不过这里它是指a person who is not a citizen of the country in which they live or work. 例如“非法居住者”就是an illegal alien。在美国，外籍居住者就被称为resident alien(a person from another country who has permission to stay in the US)。
mule
我们最熟悉的意思是“驴”，比如电驴(eMule)。还有中国人形容一个人特别的倔，会叫他“倔驴”，英文里也有同样的表达：He’s as stubborn as a mule.
不过在这里，它不再是驴的意思，而是俚语表示a person who is paid to take drugs illegally from one country to another，可以翻译成“毒贩子”。例如：
The authorities believe these men are important figures in the drug trade, not merely mules.
