lay/ put your cards on the table

　　To tell somebody honestly what your plans, ideas, etc. are.

　　有种“打开天窗说亮话”的感觉。不过“摊牌”更传神一点儿。

　　load

　　A feeling of responsibility or worry that is difficult to deal with.

　　此时load跟burden的意思差不多。例如：

　　She thought she would’t be able to bear the load of bringing up her family alone.

　　Knowing that they had arrived safely took a load off my mind.

　　five-five

　　这个简单粗暴的表达，表示“混血的”，看起来更正式一点儿的说法是biracial或者mixed race。

　　cycle

　　The fact of a series of events being repeated many times, always in the same order. “循环，周期”，例如：

　　They couldn’t break the cycle of harvest failure, food shortage, price increase and misery.

　　side

　　One of the opinions, attitudes or positions held by somebody in an argument, a business arrangement, etc. 例如：

　　We heard both sides of the argument.

　　I just want you to hear my side of the story first.

　　本集里面有很多小词，都不是我们平时常用的意思了，但是确实是口语表达里总是会出现的用法。结合语境(context)，记忆起来效率更高哦!
