  have two left feet

To be very awkward in your movements, especially when you are dancing or playing a sport.

point a/ the finger (at somebody)

To accuse somebody of doing something.

The article points an accusing finger at the authorities.

  lay a finger on somebody

(usually used in negative sentences) To touch somebody with the intention of hurting them physically.

I never laid a finger on her.

If you lay a finger on me, I'll call the police.

  give somebody the finger

To raise your middle finger in the air with the back part of your hand facing somebody, done to be rude to somebody or to show them that you are angry.

have eyes in the back of your head

To be aware of everything that is happening around you, even things that seem difficult or impossible to see.

You can’t get away with anything in her class. She has eyes in the back of her head.

  hold/ put a gun to somebody’s head

To force somebody to do something that they do not want to do, by making threats.

off the top of your head

Just guessing or using your memory, without taking time to think carefully or check the facts.

I can’t remember the name off the top of my head, but I can look it up for you.

have the face to do something

To do something that other people think is rude or shows a lack of respect without feeling embarrassed or ashamed.

I don’t know how you have the face to complain after everything they’ve done for you!

not have the heart (to do something)

To be unable to do something because you know that it will make somebody sad or upset.

I don’t have the heart to tell him that…

somebody’s heart is in their mouth

Somebody feels nervous or frightened about something.

My heart was in my mouth as she opened the envelope.

your heart is not in something

Used to say that you are not very interested in or enthusiastic about something

be written all over somebody’s face

(Of a feeling) to be very obvious to other people from the expression on somebody’s face.

  当朋友跟我们说“I’m fine, don’t worry.”

Guilt was written all over his face.

  many hands make light work

Used to say that a job is made easier if a lot of people help.

  know somebody/ something inside out

know somebody/ something like the back of your hand

To be very familiar with something.

This is where I grew up. I know this area like the back of my hand.
