如果没看过《怪物公司》(Monsters, Inc.),还真的挺难理解里面怪兽的理想,尤其是那首校歌:“Monsters University, we give our heart to you. Wherever children are dreaming, we’ll bring them nightmares, too. Oh, Monsters University, Alma Mater hail to you.”(alma mater 母校)
Let’s take a look.
run out
Your luck will run out.
We are running out of time/gas.
This agreement has run out.
all over the place
New restaurants are appearing all over the place. Your calculations are all over the place. = Your calculations are completely wrong.
We/ You earned this.
这里面的earn用英英词典里的解释比较好:to get something that you deserve, usually because of something good you have done or because of the good qualities you have. She’s having a well-earned rest this week.
