他曾执导13部《猫和老鼠》，并参与《大力水手》系列动画制作。他曾凭电影《蒙罗》(Munro)获得1960年奥斯卡最佳动画短片奖。American-born Czech illustrator and film director Gene Deitch died at the age of 95 in his Prague residence on April 18, according to his Czech publisher. Deitch is mostly famed for directing 13 episodes of "Tom and Jerry" and participating in the production of "Popeye." Aside from the commercial success, he also won an Oscar with his short animated film "Munro" in 1960, and got nominated twice for the category in 1964 with "Here's Nudnik" and "How to Avoid Friendship." There are no further details yet in regards to the reason for his sudden death.
