Chinese hit costume drama "Story of Yanxi Palace" has become the most searched TV show on Google in 2018 worldwide, according to the annual top trending searches chart rolled out by the search engine on Wednesday. The 70-episode historical drama that sets in the Emperor Qianlong period in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) and tells a story of an imperial court maid who manages to become one of the royal ruler's favorite concubines, has been quite a sensation on China's social media since being aired on the country's leading video-streaming portal iQiyi in July. Total views reached more than 13 billion on August 26 when the finale went air, according to the video broadcasting service. The drama, which is now available in over 70 countries and regions around the globe, is followed by Netflix smash "Altered Carbon" on Google's most-searched TV show list.
