The Kevin Spacey Foundation will shut down in the UK tomorrow, it was confirmed by trustees this week. The foundation, which works with young people in the performing arts, has already had its social media accounts closed and its website scaled back as it prepared for its final day of operation.

　　In a statement released by the foundation – that was founded in 2008 while Spacey was artistic director of The Old Vic theatre in London – it was decided its work was ‘no longer viable’.

　　The statement read: ‘The Trustees have reached the conclusion that the work of the Kevin Spacey Foundation UK is no longer viable and as such the Foundation will be closing on the 28 February 2018.

　　‘The Trustees would like to thank all their partners, artists and organisations for the great work that has been done in association with the Foundation. The Trustees hope that the objects of the charity will be taken forward by other organisations.’ It hasn't been confirmed whether its US arm will also be shut down.

　　As part of its program, the foundation offered scholarships and awards, mentorships an deducational programs for emerging talent. The decision comes as Kevin Spacey was faced with allegations of sexual misconduct that were raised last year by Anthony Rapp, who accused the actor of sexually assaulting him when Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 26. In October 2017 a string of accusations against Spacey were made by various men and their families, with Anthony Rapp alleging that at the age of 14 Spacey tried to seduce him in a bedroom.

　　Spacey went on to lose his job on the Netflix drama House of Cards and Christopher Plummer reshot his role in Ridley Scott's All The Money In The World.
