　　But Benedict Cumberbatch still managed to steal the spotlight as he walked the red carpet along with his gorgeous wife Sophie Hunter at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere in London on Wednesday evening.

　　The handsome 39-year-old - who is currently sporting a dark mop of hair while he films Marvel movie Doctor Strange - was joined by his spouse, who dazzled in a striking yet conservative ensemble for her turn at the biggest movie event of the year.

　　The 37-year-old theatre director and mother-of-one drew attention to her tiny waistline with a high-waisted black and white striped A-line skirt.

　　Dapper Benedict went for a more casual approach, trading his usual red carpet style of a tuxedo or suit for a pair of dark blue jeans and unbuttoned navy shirt.

　　The Sherlock star kept himself warm against the December chill in the British capital with a denim-effect blue coat slung over the top.

　　But it was the couple's matching hair that really caught the eye. Benedict has naturally lighter hair, but he currently has darker locks - almost as dark as his wife - while he's filming his role as Marvel character Doctor Strange.

　　Benedict and Sophie - who tied the knot in February this year on Valentine's Day - looked to be enjoying their spectacular date night, joining the cast of the new Star Wars film at the European premiere of The Force Awakens.

　　The smitten duo were taking the night off from parenting duties: earlier this year in June, they welcomed their first child together, a son called Christopher.

　　The film has already made UK box office history, selling more than half a million tickets for its opening week at one cinema chain alone.
