This is a special award presented at the discretion of the Laureus World Sports Academy which acknowledges a major achievement from the sporting year. This may encompass a sporting performance by an individual or team which has extended the boundaries of human achievement or has defied impossible odds. In exceptional circumstances it may also reflect the contribution made by an individual or a group, possibly over several years, which has made a significant and positive impact on sport.
这是经由劳伦斯世界体育学会裁决而颁发的特殊奖项。它因体育界一项重大的成就的产生而颁发。这个重大成就可以包括有个人或是团队在体育表现中突破人类已有成就或是打破人们对不可能的定义。在极为特殊的情况下，此奖项也呢个反应有个人或集体经过数年的努力，为体育界带来的重要且积极的影响。
