Over 120 contestants from around the globe gathered in Sanya, Hainan province on Nov 12 to vie for the title of Miss World 2018, the 68th edition of the international beauty pageant.

　　11月12日，来自世界各地的120多名选手齐聚海南三亚，角逐第68届国际选美大赛2018年世界小姐的桂冠。

　　At the launch ceremony, they wore the traditional costumes of their home countries and cordially interacted with the audience.

　　在开幕式上，这些佳丽们身穿代表本国文化的传统服饰热情的向观众们打招呼。

　　Lasting until Dec 8, this year’s event includes a contestant meet-and-great, a Sanya featured scenic spot tour, the Top Model competition, a Haikou series of activities, a charitable activity and sports competitions.

　　今年的活动将持续到12月8日，活动内容包括选手见面大会、三亚特色景点游、顶级模特(Top Model)大赛、海口系列活动、世界小姐公益行、体育竞技赛等。

　　Mao Peirui, this year’s champion of the Chinese zone, is participating in the finals for China.

　　今年中国区冠军毛培蕊将代表中国参加最终角逐。

　　The Miss World pageant, created in 1951, is one of the oldest and most influential beauty pageants in the world. It is the eighth time that event has been held in Sanya.

　　世界小姐选美大赛自1951年启动，是全球历史最悠久、最具影响力的选美比赛之一。这是该活动第八次在三亚举行。
