UK universities are increasingly reliant on Chinese students.

　　英国大学越来越依赖中国学生。

　　That’s according to a report by specialist UK publication Times Higher Education (THE).

　　泰晤士高等教育在一份报告中得出了这一结论。

　　The report is based on analysis of applications for UK student visas, and shows that over a third of all such visas issued over the last year were to Chinese students.

　　该份报告分析了英国学生签证的申请情况，发现去年超过三分之一的此类签证都签发给了中国学生。

　　A decade ago, the report claims that the majority of such visas went to Indian students. So what’s changed?

　　而十年前，该报告还表示称此类签证大部分都是发给印度学生的。那么，到底什么改变了?

　　Well, THE suggest that the UK government’s decision to tighten-up restrictions on post-study work Visas may be partly responsible. Apparently, Chinese students are more likely to want to return to China to work after their studies, whereas Indian students are more keen to work for a time in the UK before returning.

　　事实上，泰晤士高等教育表示，英国政府加强对留学工作签证限制的决定可能是部分原因。显然，中国学生毕业之后更愿意回国工作，而印度学生则更希望回国之前先在英国工作一段时间。

　　The news comes after we revealed in March that one of the leading Universities in China has revealed plans to open a new campus near Oxford.

　　而在此之前，今年3月份我们曾报道中国某名校计划在牛津开设新校区的新闻。

　　Foxcombe Hall used to be part of the University of Oxford’s Ripon College.

　　Foxcombe礼堂曾是牛津大学里彭学院的一部分。

　　Most recently, it has been used by the Open University - but they’re planning to vacate the site later in 2017.

　　但是最近这里已经被当做开放大学使用，还计划到2017年下半年的时候腾空。

　　That’s given a rare opportunity for Peking University’s HSBC Business School to acquire collegiate facilities in the Oxford vicinity.

　　这给予了北大汇丰商学院在牛津附近购置大学设施的难得机会。

　　When it opens in 2018, Foxcombe Hall will welcome students from China, the UK, and also other European countries.

　　等到2018年再度开放的时候，Foxcombe礼堂将迎来来自中国、英国、以及欧洲其他国家的学生。

　　They’ll be given the opportunity to combine their studies in the UK with work in China, and vice versa.

　　他们将会获得在英国学习和在中国工作的机会，反之亦然。
