《上气》的主角叫郑商奇(Zheng Shang-Chi)，出生于中国湖南，从小随父亲与师父习武，19岁就成了一名功夫大师。

　　Born in Hunan province, China, Shang-Chi has been a master of martial arts at the age of 19, thanks to the training from his father and instructors since he was young.

　　当他终于独当一面外出执行任务后，却得知自己的父亲其实是一个大魔头……商奇奋起反抗父亲，走上了英雄之路。

　　Finally, the day had come. While still a teen, he was given his first mission outside. Shang-Chi, finally aware of his father’s manipulations, declared himself to be his father’s mortal enemy, devoting his life to the overthrow of his criminal empire.

　　商奇是20世纪70年代漫威系列漫画《功夫大师》中的角色，漫画中商奇用自己高超的武艺对抗父亲，并最终破坏了父亲的邪恶计划。后来，商奇还加入了“复仇者联盟”并出现在很多不同的漫威漫画中。

　　Shang-Chi was the star of a Marvel Comics series from the '70s, titled Master of Kung Fu, where he used his incredible martial arts skills to fight against his father. Shang-Chi would eventually put an end to his father's evil schemes and has made recurring appearances in different books over the years, which included a stint as a member of The Avengers.

　　据澎湃新闻报道，“上气”这个角色最初是因美国的李小龙和功夫热产生的。而上气在漫画里常被其他超级英雄尊称为“功夫大师”（Master of Kung Fu），擅长的兵刃为长棍、双截棍和剑。

　　“上气”这个名字显然也跟气功有关，根据漫威官方给出的解释，“Shang-Chi”字面含义为“rising of the spirit”，翻译过来大概是“清气上升”的意思。

　　不过，正当大家沉浸在终于将在大银幕上迎来漫威首个华裔英雄的兴奋中时，有网友忽然反应过来：不对啊！“上气”他爸，就是那个大魔头，不是“傅满洲”吗？ 

　　傅满洲的形象一般被描绘为：瘦高，耸肩，长眉细目，面目阴险，行踪诡秘。他集阴谋诡计于一身，并将它们运用发挥得炉火纯青。简言之，傅满洲代表了当时西方人对中国人的刻板印象。

　　因此，有网友认为这是对中国人的“抹黑”。

　　据外媒报道，在电影中漫威或将开始重构上气的人物背景，傅满洲的漫画形象不再出现，电影中“上气”的父亲是一个名叫“Zheng Zu”的术士。而澎湃新闻也报道说，从这个人物，也可看出漫威进入中国市场的决心。
