In that sense, there are bound to be similarities in styling and costumes, and there are.

　　首先，《延禧攻略》与周迅与霍建华主演的《后宫·甄嬛传》后传《如懿传》有极为相似之处，两部剧不光围绕着相同的时间段展开，而且都以清朝的乾隆皇帝为主要人物。这么一来，两部剧注定在风格以及服饰上都有相似之处，而且也的确如此。

　　Second, it marks TVB queen Charmaine Sheh's highly-anticipated return to costume dramas after five years. Just one look at her impressive career and it's easy to see that she shines in period pieces, most notably Beyond the Realm of Conscience which continues to be regarded as a classic. Palace politics and infighting amongst consorts would probably be a walk down the park for the veteran actress though it's interesting that she has joined Yu Zheng's drama in a supporting role.

　　I was also surprised this is a Yu Zheng production. The quality is there along with some creativity (the opening sequence is pretty original). The pace is not too slow and the cast of characters are believable (so far).

　　这部剧居然是于正出品的，惊到我了。品质和创意都不赖(开场很独到)。剧情节奏也不太慢，而角色阵容(目前而言)也都是演技在线的。

　　Not sure if it’s true, but this show is now creating more storm than fuyao >_> I will possibly try this once it finishes airing, YU Mama gave me too many scars! His series always started out very good, then gets really bad toward the middle and rush ending, with draggy middle! Best to wait and binge at the end!

　　不确定是不是真的啊，这部剧的势头超过《扶摇》了。不过我可能等剧完结了再追，于妈给了我太多伤害了!他的剧总是开头相当不错，然后中间急剧掉线，啰啰嗦嗦最后又虎头蛇尾!最好等到完结再来刷剧!
