“Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island” soared to 12.6 million US dollars in China during the Children Day, showed the data released by Mtime – an online database of movies and TV shows in China.

　　Unlike other animations, the post-80s and 90s generations contributed a lot to the box office hit of Doraemon the movie. Many of them even said that they would go to see the movie, no matter if it was good or bad, since the robot cat is one of the most beloved cartoon characters for them, and is considered as a childhood accompany, who has countless magical stuffs in his pocket.

　　“Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island” tells a story of five friends who find a treasure map of pirates and decide to go treasure hunting. The plot contains many familiar details which recall memory, for example, Shizuka taking showers and Doraemon having a hard time finding the right tools in his pocket.
