"The Fate of the Furious", or "Fast 8", became the all-time top-grossing imported film in China on Saturday, with ticket sales of 2.44 billion yuan (around 350 million U.S. dollars) since its opening on April 14.

　　上周六，《速度与激情8》荣登中国史上最卖座电影宝座，自从4月14日在中国上映以来已经揽获了24.4亿元人民币(约合3.5亿美元)票房。

　　The latest instalment in the Hollywood film franchise "Fast and Furious" surpassed its prequel, "Furious 7", which raked in 2.42 billion yuan in 2015, to top the chart.

　　《速8》的票房超越了该系列前一部电影《速7》(2015年该电影收获了24.2亿人民币票房)，成功登顶。

　　This is not the first time the blockbuster smashed a box office record in China.

　　这并不是《速度与激情》系列电影第一次在中国打破票房纪录。

　　On its opening day, the film pulled in 386 million yuan, making it the biggest day ever in Chinese box office history, according to data from cinema website Maoyan.com.

　　据电影网站猫眼网的数据显示，在上映当天这部电影就收获了3.86亿人民币票房，这还是中国票房史上单日最大票房。

　　"The Fate of the Furious" set another record for the highest revenue from midnight screenings, gathering 59.8 million yuan on its opening night to overtake the record of 52.5 million yuan made by "Furious 7" in April 2015.

　　《速度与激情》还创下了午夜放映收入最高的记录，在上映首夜狂揽5980万人民币票房，超过了2015年4月《速7》5250万人民币的记录。
