While Hollywood continues its feud with Donald Trump, with celebrities taking potshots at the new US president, the global filmmaking hub is set to harmoniously embrace wider money-making opportunities in China where an expansion of the quota on imported films is in the pipeline.

　　当好莱坞和特朗普之间的不和一直持续不断、众多明星纷纷表达对新总统的不满意见时，全球电影制作中心正把目光投向中国，争取更多赚钱机会。中国方面正筹备扩充对进口电影的份额。

　　That might be causing a lot of head-scratching and hand-wringing for those working on China’s homegrown movies. Still, it could be a good sign for China as Hollywood could not only play a part in reversing China’s box office downturn, but also increasingly turns out to be a witness of the rise of the world’s second-largest economy in areas beyond growth miracles.

　　这一举措或将使中国本土电影制作者头疼而束手无策，但是对中国来说这依然是个好兆头。好莱坞不仅能在中国电影票房的复苏过程中起一定作用，还是在世界第二经济大国以惊人速度崛起的见证者。

The country is expected to relax its rule limiting imports of foreign films - the majority of which are Hollywood films - and allow a greater share of box office revenues to go to US distributors, as a five-year deal signed in February 2012 is currently up for renegotiation. 　　With Hollywood set to show more of its films in China as the quota expands, China’s movie market, already seeing signs of a growth rebound at the beginning of 2017, will certainly get a shot in the arm. And other than the cliché outcry over weak Chinese films, it’s worth pointing out that the availability of more Hollywood films in Chinese movie theaters would underwrite China’s growing clout across the globe.

　　It’s fair to say that Hollywood’s growing contribution to China’s box office is being intertwined with the growing influence of China over Hollywood filmmaking. It’s not only about Hollywood’s courting of Chinese audiences which sees more Chinese elements in Hollywood productions, but closer ties between Hollywood studios and Chinese investors.

　　不得不说好莱坞对中国票房越来越多的贡献与中国在好莱坞日益增长的影响力之间有千丝万缕的联系。其中不仅仅是好莱坞通过在电影中添加中国元素以博中国观众的眼球，还有的是好莱坞工作室与中国投资商的紧密连系。

　　As such, the other side of the China-Hollywood story is the filmmaking hub’s shift toward being more Chinese. That could naturally be translated into a love for China - the Chinese audience and Chinese investment - in contrast with the Hollywood elite’s disapproval for Trump.

　　由此看来，“中国-好莱坞”这个故事的另一面就是电影制作向中式化的转变。相比较之下，好莱坞精英们对特朗普感到不满，却对中国充满着热爱——对中国观众和中国投资商的热爱。
