This is not drill.”For fans of the comics, this is a huge deal as “Flashpoint” is a storyline that had massive ramifications on the DC Comics universe. It was also adapted as an animated film, which is easy to watch and certainly a little bit of homework you should do over the summer. “The Flash,” as they tend to do, will be changing things up though. “We’re definitely doing this FP thing our own way,” Gustin continues. “I’ve read Flashpoint, I’ve seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing.”In the comics, when Barry saves his mom it creates an entirely new timeline in which his mother is no longer dead, and most of the world’s heroes are more like villains these days — Aquaman is at war with Wonder Woman; Batman is Thomas Wayne, not Bruce Wayne; Captain Cold is actually a Central City hero.If the show wanted to pattern itself closely after the comics, their entire world would be changed — which would have to stretch to “Arrow,” “Legends of Tomorrow” and “Supergirl.” Given that the four shows feature four different creative staffs with their own ideas, that would be practically impossible.Now, in theory, he’s on an entirely different timeline than the rest of the Arrowverse. Technically the only fact is that Barry is presumably missing.
