Plus, we don’t think fans would ever turn down the idea of Caroline appearing on “The Originals” if her time on “The Vampire Diaries” runs out.Stefan Salvatore There’s a lovely kind of symmetry, looking back on the first episode of “The Vampire Diaries” when Caroline was convinced she and Stefan would end up together. Through all the break-ups, make-ups and making out, these two best friends have become each others’ whole world, and their love story has become a beautiful part of the series. Alaric We’d honestly be shocked if Alaric comes out on top of this debate, but there’s something to be said for an underdog. Alaric and Caroline share a pretty special bond of parenthood, and in the end, he did what was best for her and let her go when he knew that was what she wanted. Plus, out of all of Caroline’s love interests, Alaric was the only one to actually put a ring on it, so we tip our hat to his “slow and steady wins the race” mentality.
