　　While it would absolutely be revolutionary and a huge step forward for the LGBTQ community to see a gay or bisexual man headlining his own major Marvel franchise, the question has to be raised: Who would said boyfriend be?

　　The obvious choice is Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), given how their “bromance” has spanned 90 years and three movies.

　　On the other hand, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) has been a loyal and devoted friend to Steve for years, and if we’re looking for boyfriend material, you can’t really find someone better.

　　And now it becomes the age old tale: do you prefer a bad boy with a tragic backstory, or the trustworthy guy who’s been by your side all along?

　　Bucky Barnes

　　Let’s face it, when the natural laws of aging and physics are defied to keep two people together who should be long dead, you have to start wondering if fate isn’t trying to tell you something. Bucky is pretty much the most important person in the world to Steve Rogers, and if Marvel ever decided to reveal that he was interested in men, Bucky should probably be at the front of the line.

　　Unfortunately, Bucky’s got baggage. He’s brainwashed, he’s frozen, he’s a criminal … nothing says “bad boy” like a guy who could snap at any given minute (with the correct code word sequence, of course) and try to kill you.

　　Sam Wilson

　　It’s the most romantic story in the world: boy meets boy, boys become best friends, boy realize they’re meant for each other and fall in epic love. Sam Wilson might seem like the “safe option” but bad boys can be a bigger headache than they’re worth, and something has to be said for Sam and Steve’s easy chemistry. They’re totally in sync at all times.

　　The only downside to this relationship is that Sam tends to get himself into a lot of scrapes on Steve’s behalf. Sure, Steve appreciates it, but there’s loyalty and there’s following someone off a cliff. Check yourself before you wreck yourself, Sam.
