In the end, punches are thrown and harsh truths are exchanged.It’s pretty obvious that Caroline is not in love with Alaric — they don’t even sleep in the same bed, guys — but she’s also made it pretty clear that her feelings for Stefan right now mostly consist of rage, betrayal and contempt thanks to the fact that he broke her heart three years ago by leaving with Valerie.After watching these boys bicker over her and what she should or should not want all episode, the question has to be raised: Should Caroline just dump both these losers and go enjoy the single life?Thinking back on it, it’s been a long time since Caroline has lived in a world free of romantic entanglements.She’s certainly been single a few times over the years, but ever since Season 1, there’s always been a guy waiting in the wings to sweep her off her feet. Caroline can’t help it that men happen to fall at her feet — and Candice King certainly can’t help it that she has chemistry with everyone she meets — but maybe it’s time to ditch the romance and do a little soul searching?
