　　"The [season] finale featuring the tragic death of Abbie Mills was a very dramatic ending and a bold move for the show, but Sleepy Hollow has always been known for its shocking finales," producers in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter."We feel we provided a wonderfully poignant conclusion for Abbie and showed some of the best moments between the Witnesses that we've seen on-screen."

　　After nearly dying earlier in the season, Abbie was killed off Friday after sacrificing her soul to take down Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) and The Hidden One (Peter Mensah).

　　Sources told THR that Beharie was unhappy behind the scenes at the show, and was actively looking for a way to depart.In addition, those same sources have indicated Sleepy Hollow is likely to return for a fourth season.
