　　‘The Walking Dead’ sets the stage for Negan’s deadly sacrificeThe latest episode of “The Walking Dead,” “Twice As Far,” was one of the most emotional of the season. While Daryl (Normal Reedus) was reunited with his BFF — the crossbow — the death of Denise (Merritt Wever) via that same crossbow in the wrong hands reminded everyone that the Saviors weren’t to be trifled with and while Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the crew may think they have the upper hand, they certainly do not. That’s what makes the final moments of the episode so hard to process. After having a rather erratic season, where she swung between overprotective mama bear, assassin and baker, Carol (Melissa McBride) has bid the Alexandria Safe Zone goodbye. It was never my intention to hurt you, but it’s how it has to be. We have so much here, people, food, medicine, walls — everything we need to live. But what we have other people want too and that won’t ever change. If we survive this threat, it’s not over. Another one will arrive to take its place to take what we have. I love you all here, I do. But I’d have to kill for you and I can’t. I won’t. Rick sent me away and I wasn’t ever going to come back, but everything happened and I wound up staying. But I can’t, anymore. I can’t love anyone because I can’t kill anyone. So I’m going like I always should have. Don’t come after me please.” Killing has been something that Carol has always thrived at, but based on the way she tried to protect a pregnant Maggie (Lauren Cohan) before they were captured by the Saviors. It’s hard to pin her down, but clearly Carol cares about these people in her life, possibly too much — and she doesn’t envision a day when these attacks and threats will be over. This isn’t a world for Carol. She’s a survivor, but when she puts everyone else before herself, her own likelihood of survival sinks. So now Carol sets off on her own, with the idea being that we won’t see her again. RELATED: ‘The Walking Dead’ pulls a ‘Gotham’ with Negan We all know that’s simply not the case, though. With Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) arriving in just two episodes, Carol just took a major jump to the top of the list of most likely to be on the other end of his barbed wire bat Lucille. By going out on her own with so many Saviors seemingly hidden everywhere, Carol is at a major risk of being captured once again. That said, if she does end up in their grasp, don’t expect it to go down without her claiming a few heads of her own. Again, above all else, Carol is a fighter.
