　　Speculation and rumors have been swirling regarding the direction Ryan Murphy will take with the sixth season of “American Horror Story.” According to US Weekly, a source close to the production has revealed that Season 6 of the FX series will focus on … Slender Man?

　　“Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show,” the source claims. “They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there.”

　　For those not familiar with the spooky character, Slender Man got his start creeping people out on the internet as a meme back in 2009. Different iterations of the faceless tall man has him stalking people, mainly children, in various settings.

　　Since his inception on the Something Awful forums, Slender has shown up in different stories — check out CreepyPasta for some horrific goodies — video games, and even the episode of “Supernatural,” titled, “#thinman.” The legend got some media attention in 2014 as a bunch of violent attacks in Wisconsin were said to be related to the fictitious character.

　　It’s not been fully confirmed that this will be the direction the FX series will take in the next season but if it is, it will join Syfy’s horror anthology series (also inspired by a CreepyPasta story) — from Max Landis (“Chronicle,” “American Ultra”) and Nick Antosca (“Hannibal,” “Friday the 13th”) — titled, “Channel Zero.”
