Less than one day ahead of the Season 5 premiere of "Game of Thrones," the first four episodes of the new season were leaked online. The episodes started appearing on piracy networks Saturday (April 11) night, and, according to HBO, they came by way of press screeners.

　　"Sadly, it seems the leaked four episodes of the upcoming season of 'Game of Thrones' originated from within a group approved by HBO to receive them," HBO says in statement to Zap2it. "We're actively assessing how this breach occurred."

　　According to Variety, piracy-tracking firm Excipio reports that by 9 a.m. ET Sunday (April 12), the episodes had been dowloaded by 778,985 individual clients worldwide. The numbers make sense considering "Game of Thrones" was themost-pirated TV show of 2014.

　　The leak comes days after HBO's April 7 launch of HBONow, a standalone streaming service that is available for $14.99 a month.

　　"Game of Thrones" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
