"American Horror Story" is returning in the fall with its fifth season, subtitled "Hotel." If you were a fan of Seasons 1 and 2, "Hotel" might be right up your alley, since it returns the focus to being on a place rather than a group of people.

　　The latest guest checking into "Hotel" is none other than Kathy Bates, the Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress who appeared in both previous seasons "Coven" and "Freak Show." Details about her role are scarce, but creator Ryan Murphy does tease on Twitter that Bates is "running the Hotel."

　　Here's what else we know so far.

　　No Jessica Lange

　　Sorry, fans. We love Jessica Lange as much as you do, but we're all just going to have to come to grips with the fact that she's not going to be a part of "AHS: Hotel." She told the Paleyfest audience earlier this year, "We've had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had the opportunity to play. ... but yes, I'm done."

　　Mother Monster

　　In lieu of Jessica Lange, "American Horror Story" has added Lady Gaga to the roster. That's not to say Gaga is suddenly taking over the lead part. Smart money is on Sarah Paulson for that (since she's already kind of been the co-lead for several seasons). But Mother Monster herself is joining the cast, in a role that Murphy guarantees will "shock people."

　　Some familiar faces

　　Chloe Sevigny and Wes Bentley are both checking into the "Hotel." Murphy announced on Twitter that Sevigny ("Asylum") and Bentley ("Freak Show") will both be series regulars for Season 5 of "AHS."

　　More Murphy alums

　　In addition to some returning "AHS" actors, it was announced at Paleyfest that frequent Murphy collaborators Matt Bomer ("The Normal Heart," "Freak Show") and Cheyenne Jackson ("Glee") will also be joining the "Hotel" cast.

　　"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres in October 2015.
