Adidas pulled its all-white shoe honoring Black History Month from its collection after receiving backlash on social media. The all-white shoe was among several different shoes featuring designs by the Harlem Renaissance.
People didn't really have a problem with the other shoes in the series. The white sneaker, though, was a different story.
"Who makes an all white shoe celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth ?!??????? " one person said in response to the shoe.
Adidas removed the shoe from its collection and issued a statement about the decision.
"Toward the latter stages of the design process, we added a running shoe to the collection that we later felt did not reflect the spirit or philosophy of how Adidas believes we should recognize and honor Black History Month," the sportswear company said. "After careful consideration, we have decided to withdraw the product from the collection."
Black History Month, also known as African-American History Month in the U.S., is an annual observance in Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
It began as a way for remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. It is celebrated annually in the United States and Canada in February, as well as in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Republic of Ireland in October.
1) pull v.
2)have a problem with sth. 对……有意见
在口语当中,说have a problem with sth.
You have a problem with that?
3)Who makes...... ? 啊?
Who makes sth.?
