2016年3月21日，台湾一列“凯蒂猫”列车首发。为了吸引顾客，列车推出了Hello Kitty 主题系列的座椅枕套。但是周一列车结束从台北到台东的首航后，列车乘务人员发现车上大部分座椅枕套被偷，只剩下48个座椅枕套。
A Hello Kitty-themed Taroko Express train made its inaugural run in Taiwan on March 21, 2016. The train was installed with a total of 376 headrest covers with Hello Kitty patterns printed on them. But when the train finished its round trip from Taipei to Taitung on Monday, the train attendants found that all but 48 headrest covers got stolen.

Each such headrest cover had costed the train company some TWD 50 (USD 1.6) to made. The company said they have prepared 120 extra covers just in case but did not expect that 328 pieces would be stolen on the train’s maiden trip.
每个枕套花费了列车公司50台币(1.6美元)制作。列车公司表示为了防止丢失，已经准备了120个多余的枕套以备用，但是出乎预料的是328条枕套被偷走。
