　　The Dragon Boat Festival, one of the most important traditional festivals in China, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. On that day Chinese people usually eat rice dumplings, which are made of rice, meat and so on, wrapped in bamboo leaves. And there are different kinds of delicious rice dumplings. The festival is also known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern places where there are many rivers and lakes, and people watch dragon-boat races to celebrate it. Chinese people celebrate the festival in honor of Qu Yuan, who was an honest minister and a great poet in ancient times. It is said that he committed suicide by drowning himself in a river.

　　This is Li Hua. I am writing this very letter to formally response to your former letter inquiring about local customs in China. And from my perspective, in order to help you behave decently, the following suggestions are supposed to be followed.
