　　Dear Jim,

　　How are things going? I’m glad you are interested in our cultural heritage protection.

　　Great progress has been made in the past few years. Every year a lot of efforts are made and much money is spent researching and protecting it. People are more aware of the importance of protecting the cultural heritage.

　　However, we are faced with greater challenges in protecting our cultural relics nowadays because they have to make way for many new buildings. Even worse, a large number of historic spots have already been destroyed, which worries us a lot.

　　I think more steps should be taken to protect our cultural heritage. And I hope the whole society will take an active part.
