灰机们早上好,都吃过早餐了吗?在我们的日常生活中,除了常规的一日三餐,当然少不了吃大餐的好时光。那么“吃大餐”除了"have a big meal", 还有哪些地道表达呢?一起和会说姐学一学吧!
A feast
feast 指的是“特殊举办的宴会”,一般邀请很多嘉宾,比如 a wedding feast(婚宴),festival feast(节日宴会);而 midnight feast 还可以指“偷偷吃的宵夜”
During the National Day, I was invited to many wedding feasts.
国庆期间,我参加了许多婚宴。
A banquet
正式场合举行人数较多、规模较大的宴席;一般有人致词,例如:state banquet(国宴),victory banquet(庆功宴)等;当然如果婚礼规模很大很隆重,像王室婚礼,我们也可以用 wedding banquet 形容婚宴
The state banquet was prepared by one of the top chefs in the world.
这场国宴的菜品由世界最顶级厨师之一准备。
A spread
spread 涂抹;蔓延”做名词时有“一席盛宴”的含义,形象地描述了饭菜在餐桌上摆开来的场面

你不用在我每次去你家的时候都做那么一大桌丰盛的饭菜。
A slap-up meal
英式口语说法;slap-up”用来形容饭菜“高档而丰盛的”,比如,我们可以说“go for a slap-up meal 吃一顿大餐”
We had a slap-up meal together with families at the night of Mid-Autumn Festival.
中秋节当晚,我们家里人一起吃大餐。
A major blowout
blowout指的是“欢乐、喜庆的宴会”

A heaving plate
heaving”的意思是“挤满的、摆满的”。如果饭菜摆满了“盘子 plate”,就可以说这是“a heaving plate 一大盘菜”
