  Have you ever had difficulty with your boss? If the boss is wrong, how do you handle it?

  你和上司有过不愉快的经历吗?如果上司犯错你会如何处理?

  I had a rocky start with a manager once, because we had different expectations for the flow of the workday. Once we talked about it, we realized that our goals were very compatible, and we were able to work very successfully together for several years. I have found that if I take the time to talk with my manager at the beginning of a project, we can all get off to a great start on the same page.

  我曾经和经理有个不愉快的开端,因为我么对一天的工作流程期望不同。但当我们交谈后,我们发现我们的目标是相同的,然后我们一起合作了好几年。我发现,如果在项目开始的时候,我就和经理就行交谈,我们就能有一个好的开端。

  My last boss had less experience than most of the people she managed. But she didn’t mind hearing that she was doing something wrong, as long as the right way was explained. If I told her‘ it might work better if we try this way,’she’d say ‘ok, try it.’

  我的上一任老板比她的所有雇员都资历要浅。但是只要说明正确的方法,她并不介意听到她做错某事。如果我告诉她:“如果我们这样做可能效果会更好”,她会说:“好的,那就试试”。

  It was an important project, and the boss was dead wrong about the hardware needed to run a new Internet service. I went into his office armed to the teeth with all the proof and convinced him about what needed to be changed. He had me accompany him to report the new hardware needs to his boos. We spun it as a better solution, not that the original solution was wrong. It was a win-win for both of us and for the company.

  在一个很重要的项目中,关于安装一个新的网络服务所需要的硬件,我的上司犯了大错。我带着证据,全副武装地走进他的办公室,最终说服他某些地方需要改变。他让我陪同他将这一新的硬件需求汇报给他的上司。我告诉他的上司说这是一个更好的方案,而不是上一个方案有问题。这对我们和对公司来说这是双赢。

  I would say that I have never really had a problem working with anyone. I try to find our common ground and get along with everyone and every personality.

  我可以说,我从没和任何人在工作上有过什么问题。我试着找出我们的共同点,与不同个性的每个人和睦相处。
